This is a challenging time for everyone. I hope you and your family and friends are staying well. I know some in our area have already suffered tremendously – a result of illness and/or job loss. My heart goes out to all who have been affected.
Rebecca, Ella, Bennett and I count ourselves lucky. We’re all still well; that’s the most important thing. Ella, a senior in high school, has been the most impacted, missing out on everything normally associated with the second half of senior year. And, this fall, Ella is due to begin college, but, that’s all up in the air, as universities determine the safety of in-person classes and dorm life.
The real estate market has contracted significantly, but there’s still more activity than one might expect. Homes in good condition and appropriately priced are still going under contract in under a week. But, things are different now, of course. There are no open houses or overlapping showing appointments, and prospective buyers are wearing masks and gloves during showings.
For now, I’m mainly doing business via Zoom and FaceTime, like so many others. If you’re thinking of selling your home and/or buying a home once things begin to re-open, now is a good time to begin planning and preparing. If you’d be interested in talking together about getting your home ready for sale or taking the initial steps toward buying a home, please let me know.
I wish you and your family and friends all the best. If there is anything I could ever be of help with, real estate matters aside, please let me know. Stay well.
