Rockville’s Independence Day celebration is moving to a new location this year ― Mattie Stepanek Park in King Farm. Previously, the location was Montgomery College, which was great while you were there, but leaving afterwards was really time-consuming, due to the limited road access into the campus. Hopefully, the new location will provide a great experience and allow everyone to get home afterwards much more quickly.
If you’ve never seen Rockville’s 4th of July fireworks display, it’s usually very worthwhile. My family and I have been a number of times over the years. Everyone’s always enjoyed it.
Note: The rain date will be Sunday, July 5th. Check the Rockville city government homepage at www.rockvillemd.gov on the evening of the 4th to see if the event has been moved to the 5th.
Here’s this year’s schedule:

The Fugitive Brass Quintet | Stripes Stage | 7 pm |
